What is animations in KineMaster?

KineMaster Animation Tool

“Animation Tool” in KineMaster allows you to add or create short animations to your clip. You can choose from the already available presets. Or, if you are working on a layer, you can also add your own animations by creating “dots” or “navigation paths” to define the path of the animation.

Since KineMaster is a video editing application. It allows you to get creative with your videos using Animations in KineMaster Pro Video Editor. You can add animations to yours texts, cliparts, chroma key, and basically to any layer you create. You can input the basic animations such as In Animations, Out Animations, Overall Animations etc. But you can also create animations on your own as well. All by moving the layer left to right, right to left, up to down, down to up etc. And later combining the dots. This results in a smooth moving animation of the layer.

One more great feature to note is that KineMaster also allows you to work with chroma key as well. You may pick any colour of your choice as a mask and later you may also adjust animations to your chroma key layer. You don't need to pay for a subscription or buy the premium version to activate the chroma key functionality. Once you import an image or a video which has a green background (generally), the chroma key option pops right up automatically.

So now that we've learnt about all the basics of the animations in KineMaster. Let us now get to know about all the animation variations available in KineMaster in the following paragraphs below.

Let us get to know more about the Animations in KineMaster. Starting with;

(1.) In Animation

“In Animation” contains animations which is used when a particular character (layer) enters the video clip. Say for example, the name of your video. You sure want it to enter your video but with a style. Below is a list of all the Animations which lie under “In Animation” category. These are : Fade, Pop, Slide Right, Left, Up or Down, Spin CW, CCW, Drop, Scale Up or Down, Converge, Letter by Letter, Wipe Left, Right, Up or Down, Pop Outward, Down, Up and Open, Rubber Stamp, Enter Slide Up, Down, Left or Right.

(2.) Overall Animations

“Overall Animations” works the same way as the “In Animation” but for a different period. Both “In” and “Out” Animations works just once. Say when a text enters or leaves. But the Overall Animations stays until the text or until the clip ends. Below is a list of all the Animations which lie under “Overall Animations” category. These are : Blink Slow, Flicker, Pulse, Jitter, Fountain, Ring, Floating, Drifting, Squishing, Rain, SpinCW and CCW

(3.) Out Animations

“Out Animations” takes place when a particular character or clip ends or exits the video. “Out Animations” includes animations which are similar to the “In Animations”. But with a few different other animations. Refer to the list provided below for more information. These are : Diverge, Snap, Closed, Inward, Up and down, Exit Slide Up, Down, Left or Right.

Now that we know about each animations in KineMaster Pro Video Editor. Let us now learn the steps of adding an animation to our clips in KineMaster.

How to add animations in KineMaster?

In order to add animations in KineMaster Pro Video Editor. Follow the steps provided below.

Step 1 : Open KineMaster along with your clips.

KineMaster Animation Step 1

You may choose any clips of your choice. A clip is basically a short video. It may be yours or you could also download totally free stock footage from Pexels. Yes that's true. Pexels provides high quality HD Images as well as footages too. Or, if you just want to learn how to add  animations in KineMaster. You may also use images as clips.

Step 2 : Tap on Layer>Text and add a text.

KineMaster Animation Step 2

Now add a text just for demonstration purposes. Type anything you want. All we have to do is learn about the basics of animations. Alternatively. If you don't want to use texts as a layer. You could also import another image as a layer. It will work just fine.

Step 3 : Select a desired animation.

KineMaster Animation Step 3

Once you've created the layers. Tap on the top layer (the layer which we created) and select the desired animation from the animation categories as mentioned earlier. Choose between In Animations, Out Animations or even Overall Animations.

After choosing the animation. Slide the time bar which looks like ( 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 etc) and choose a number which matches your clips. What those numbers does is they control the speed of the animation. They control how long your animations will last. If you go below 1.0, that's 0.5. Your animation will start and end fast. And if you increase the number, your animations will last longer. By the way those numbers are measured in seconds.

So the steps mentioned above is  all you need to follow in order to start adding animations to your clips in KineMaster. Alternatively, you could also create your own animations as well. Let us find out how in the paragraphs provided below.

Step 2 : Activate the custom animation interface.

KineMaster custom Animation Step 2

Tap on the layer you're working and on left hand side, you might see an icon which looks like a key(🗝️). Tap on the key icon and now the previous animations in the media panel changes. You will notice that the media panel on the right hand side changes into a “o+” and “o-” button along with two more play buttons. The “o+” (Add) button is used to lock an animation spot whereas the “o-” (Remove) is used to remove the animation spot.

Step 3 : Start mapping your clip.

Drag the text layer (or any layer) a little towards the left. You’ll now notice that the animation buttons turns solid white.

Step 4 : Tap on the add (o+) button to indicate the starting point.

At this point, you can either move your text to any other direction or keep it the same. Later. Drag the text layer again towards the left and tap on the add button to again lock a spot.
